Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully as they are a binding legal contract, and we suggest downloading and printing it for your records.
You are purchasing one chapter in a multi-author book, which includes editing, proofreading, formatting, full professional book design, bestseller rank on Amazon, and the rights to distribute your individual chapter as you choose.
You are purchasing this in your business capacity and guaranteeing the purchase as an individual.
This Terms of Purchase is the entire agreement between us. This Terms of Purchase supersedes any and all discussions, emails, online or voice messages you may have with Sylvia Becker-Hill, Becker-Hill Books, Becker-Hill Inc., or anyone associated with any of the aforementioned companies.
What happens after you pay:
Our secure payment processor is Stripe. You’ll receive a receipt for your records directly from Stripe shortly after purchase. Please allow 24-48 hours for communication from Sylvia Becker-Hill, from Becker-Hill Books, Becker-Hill Inc. with what we require for your chapter and bio. We reserve the right to delay communication if technical difficulties arise.
Refunds:
Due to the nature of a multi-author book project where the contribution of every author is critical, this service has a no-refunds policy. By completing this purchase, You acknowledge and agree not to initiate a chargeback. If You initiate a chargeback You will be charged an additional fee of $200 USD. You agree that failure to complete your chapter in time does not warrant a refund.
In the case of Becker-Hill Books being incapable - for whatever reason - to deliver the described services, a full refund will be issued to the author.
Payment Schedule:
All book payments at the upfront payment price must be made in full after accepting these terms and conditions and before the project starts as outlined in your specific book project timeline. Book payments on the installment payment plan will have payments as specified in your package, with the first installment charged when making the first payment, and then additional payments charged every 30 days.
Delivery of material from the author:
You agree that you will provide necessary information for your chapter and author biography to Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. with the execution of this agreement for the multi-author book to be released, crediting you as a contributing co-author.
You agree to send your completed chapter and bio to Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. by the date communicated in the private Facebook group and via email. You understand that failure to send your chapter and bio by the date specified in the private Facebook group and via email will result in your chapter no longer being included in the multi-author book and no refund will be given.
Copyrights:
You are granting to Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. the non-exclusive rights to print, publish, distribute and sell your chapter as a part of the book throughout the world in all languages.
You are granting Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. the right to use your name, likeness, biographical information, and full and/or excerpt of your chapter with full attribution to you in the promotion of the book in both digital and printed format.
You understand that Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. owns as the publisher the copyright for the book, including your chapter, however, you shall retain the right to republish your individual chapter in any manner and Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. agree this shall not be deemed an infringement on the copyright.
You understand that the publisher's - Sylvia Becker-Hill - copyright covers the complete book, the specific compilation of chapters, the title, and subtitle, the front cover, spine, and back cover design and including any published versions like Kindle, soft-cover, hard-cover, big font version or audio-book version. Any translations or republishing of parts of the book or usage of the title or subtitle for products in the physical or virtual form need the written permission or licensing contract with Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc.
Royalties from sales and sales rules and disclaimers:
You understand that royalties from the sales of the Kindle and the print version of the book sold through Amazon containing your chapter go to Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. only and that all profit will go to a charity chosen by Sylvia Becker-Hill and the authors. You understand you will receive no royalties from the sales of the Kindle or print version of the book sold on Amazon.
You understand you cannot make changes to the cover, the manuscript, book description or the price. You understand you can only publish your own individual chapter and sell on the platform that Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. have given you permission to publish on.
You understand that Sylvia Becker-Hill from Becker-Hill Books/Becker-Hill Inc. is not making any guarantees as to how many books will be sold, but only that the book will rank on at least one Amazon Best Seller list within 30 days of release.
You understand that you are joining this program with the intention of promoting your own services and products and not for making money from book sales.
You understand that there is no guarantee for how long the book will rank as a bestseller, however you will receive screenshots and graphics for your marketing purposes.
You understand you will be asked to participate in the promotion of the book when it is released on Amazon.
You understand that no paperback copies are included in the program but can be purchased from Amazon at the wholesale price.
Bonus training:
As part of the multi-author bestseller project, you may receive free lifetime access to Sylvia Becker-Hill's various online training such as “The Author Empowerment Program”.
You understand that they are an online self-paced program with videos and downloadable workbooks and checklists.
You understand that all content delivered through any program offered as a bonus as part of this project is under copyright by Sylvia Becker-Hill and Becker-Hill Inc.
You understand these programs are designed to empower you to produce a high-quality chapter and help you enjoy the process of becoming a publicly visible bestselling author.
You understand given the nature of online learning that the results from going through the program are your own responsibility.
Confidentiality:
You understand that parts of the Multi-Author-Bestseller and Author Empowerment Program offer group interaction with the other authors.
You understand that everything personal shared and discussed in the group meetings is confidential if not explicitly agreed to be used for book marketing purposes.
